I want to start applying to jobs, and I tried to look up ‘how-to-write-resume’ things online, but all of the ones I found were mostly for people who already had previous job experience, or finished their education - or at least most of it. I’m a freshman in college and I’ve never had a job before. I need help in how to write a resume but I don’t really know what to put it in. Any tips? Or a website that helps people like me on how to write resumes?
To the first answerer, I clicked on the website you gave and um.. apparently it’s ‘unsafe’.. I have this “WOT” (Web of Trust), it’s an add-on for mozilla firefox that tell how reliable and trustworthy a site is.. and the website you put is red, which means more-or-less, its risky/dangerous/not-a-good-idea-to-go-onto-that-website…
but thanks for ur tip :)

I will be applying to law school next year and I am concerned about my lack of job experience. I’ve been working consistently since I was 16, but either in sales or in the childcare industry. Will these type of jobs badly affect my chances of getting into an excellent law school?

I attend a very prestigious school with a decent GPA and am an athlete as well as a board member of a large club.
Should I try to get a job in another field in order to boost my application? If so, what type of positions should I be looking for.

Thanks!

I’m applying for a position at Starbucks and after reading a few websites and books about writing resumes, I’ve decided that I need to write the perfect resume, one that will catch the reader’s eye very shortly upon skimming over what I had to write. If you have worked at Starbucks, do work at Starbucks now, or have interviewed with them and written a resume for the company, PLEASE reply.

I’m 18 and I need to start college. I would like a decent paying job working mostly by myself in an office setting at a cubicle. I would like LESS paper work and most of the job having to do with computers/working with them. I live in Bellingham, WA. So any specific businesses, job titles, or course info is what I am looking for. So what are some job titles? Or if you know any businesses in Bellingham (or farther north). Yeah anything helps. Thanks.

Hey There-
I was just doing a search online for different jobs in a few different cities. I am searching Yahoo Jobs right now but also when searching Monster or Career Builder I see Job postings for Online Surveys and online Job opportunities. I know they must be somewhat legitimate because it costs $350 just for one month of posting a job on Yahoo for Kansas City.

So if anyone has ever tried surveys or online jobs that promise making money online. Let me know how you did or what you think?

I have two children ages 21 and 27 who have never had to work before due to having received money from an accident settlement a few years ago. They suddenly find themselves unable to get hired for even entry level positions, they just want the basic $8 an hour unskilled labor job nothing fancy but without the work references that most young people get in their teens and early twenties they are having no luck getting hired anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions? What do they write on the job applications under previous employment? You cannot really write none or leave it blank. What kinds of places should they be applying at that will hire people without a work history?

I work in IT for a big company but my job is about to be eliminated. The so called experts are saying that the job boards (monster dice etc) and even headhunters almost never work. Same for the company boards. They basically said unless you have a good network of people in your industry at different places, which I don’t have because I worked for the same place with the same few people for years, landing another job will be near impossible. Is this true? If I don’t have the contacts, how can I land a good job?
